Description

Swifts' first team play in the Isthmian League North Division and also have 20 junior sides from ages 8 upwards to under 19 and 23. The club actually dates back to 1880 and was the subject of a recent book called “The club that refused to die” produced by renowned author and former Maldon Mayor David Scott and club historian and stalwart Chris Daines. This book superbly documents the history and great characters and players we have had at the club, and still have to this day. We are a not for profit,  community-owned club with a great tradition of playing good quality football and still enjoy the support and involvement of several local families over many generations.

We have an excellent social club with a sports bar showing all major games on Sky and BT Sport with with a full-time bar and events manager with more than 300 members and also available for private hire. We are also blessed with one of the best playing surfaces in the entire league. All are welcome at the Swifts and we are a fully inclusive club whose motto is "where talent meets opportunity".
